Haul me away...hehe

Hi peoples,

I did a small haul the other day. I went to Sally's to buy some acetone and saw that the Magnetix line by China Glaze was on sale, so I grabbed up 2 along with a magnet.

As you can see by the price tag I got them for $3.29 each.
the colours are 'You Move Me' and 'Drawn to You', in that order.

I tested them out on the nail wheel. They are very pretty and goes on smoothly. The magnetic designs are very nice except for the star pattern did not come out well.

I also stopped at Walgreens as well and picked this cute Wet n' Wild set for $3.99, I was thinking about keeping it for myself but I decided to give it to you guys in next months give away, which I thought was a great way to bring in the summer.

Hope you like the stuff I got :)

I love GOLD...and purple!

Hello ladies,

Well, I did my toes that have been naked maybe 3 weeks because I had hit my toe and the nail went down down down, it still looks awkward which is why I had chosen a colour that might not be too noticeable.

Like I said I did my toes but not very well, by the time I was done and went into proper light I realized my toes had ridges and I messed up the polish a bit. I hope you like the design minus the mistakes I made due to terrible lighting in my living room.

Tools:

  • Konad scraper & stamper
  • Gems
  • EBay nail plat M64
  • Maybelline Color Show: Bold Gold
  • Wet n' Wild: Buffy the Violet Slayer

So on to it then!

Ok, here is Le base color which is the Bold Gold, This a very pretty colour but I think it goes on a little tiny bit streaky at first but after it dries it doesn't look that way.

Added the pattern using the Buffy the Violet Slayer which smudged when I stamped it, but it only happened on this toe, it might have been my fault, I may not have scraped it properly.

I then added 4 gems one on each of the 3 dots and one in the middle of the flower, which looked really great, but unfortunatly I added my top coat a little too soon and it smeared my stamp. I always do that, it's like I get anxious and just add the top coat.

Anyway, regardless of my mistakes I hope you enjoyed this post :-)

See you next time,
Kelly-Ann.

P.S. Don;t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY!

Spring Challenge 2: Flowers and Stripes

HI everybody!

So excited about today's submission for the Spring Challenge by Purple Glitters. This challenge was stripes and flowers and the colour combination I chose was pink and green.
I really hope you like what I came up with.

Tools:

  • NYC: High Line Green
  • Kleancolor: Popping Green
  • Milani Jewel FX: Fuchsia
  • Wet n' Wild: Dreamy Poppy
  • MASH dotting tool

HEre is the base colour which is the NYC High Line Green. And please excuse the smudge on my thumb that you will see throughout. :-D

Next I used the Kleancolor Popping green on 2 fingers.

Added the Milani Fuchsia... not too sure if I had liked it at first but in the final product I fell in love with it.

HEre is the finished product, which you can see I added the tiny flowers using my MASH dotting tool witht he colour Dreamy Poppy by Wet n' Wild.

HEre is the final product with the flash (which makes me look extra white...ugh)

I am soooo happy with the way this turned out. I hope you enjoyed this as much I did.

Don't forget to check out the others particpating in the challenge as well:

Great Review by Canadian Nail Fanatic

I just read a GREAT review by Canadian Nail Fanatic on using alternative brands for nail stamping aside from using the expensive Konad special nail polish (which I have never used as it is too expensive for me).

Surprisingly enough the one she preferred aside from the Konad was the brand I use which is Kleancolor. I love using the Kleancolor brand for any stamping I do, as a result of that I probably have about 18 Kleancolor colors. The Sheer Lilac is a lovely color to use when stamping.

Here is the Kleancolor Sheer Lilac:

She had also mentioned Wet n' Wild brand, which I really do not like for stamping. Whenever I use it it tends to peel and not stick to the nail properly and I end up having to use and orange stick to tap it down. She mentioned as well, how faint it was as a black polish, I also had this issue and using the Kleancolor was amazing to me when I switched.

Anyway enough of my rambling, I will post the review link below.

Stamping Christmas Toes

This was a design I did for Christmas. It wasn't perfect because I did not have my fine nail brush set to detail the design but looks real nice when looking down.

Tools Used:

  • Small Acrylic brush (If you have a fine nail art brush that would be better)
  • Konad scrapper and stamper
  • Bundle Monster stamping plate BM14 (Mistletoe design)
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Clear (Top Coat)
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hardener (Base coat)
  • Wet n' Wild Shine: Caribbean Frost
  • Shades of the Season: Glitter Green
  • Nina Ultra Pro: Molten Opal
  • Bundle Monster Tiny Red gems
  • Toothpick

Steps:
  1. Apply Base coat
  2. Apply the light color (Molten Opal in my case)
  3. Used the Caribbean Frost to make a line at the top of each nail
  4. Use the Green Glitter over the Caribbean Frost to give the shimmery look.
  5. Let all nail polish dry for about 30mins (I wait this long because if I wait short a time then I end up smudging my nails when stamping.)
  6. Apply the Caribbean Frost on the mistletoe design
  7. then scrape and Pick up the design with the stamp
  8. Quickly line up the stamp with the nail and stamp nail.
  9. Let design dry for 10 mins.
  10. Use the fine brush to lightly go over the Caribbean green design leaves with the Green Glitter
  11. Let dry and apply top coat
  12. Put a drop of top coat on a post it or solid surface.
  13. Use the toothpick lightly dip in the drop of top coat and use it to pick up the gems and apply to the nail before the top coat is dry (preferably immediately after applying the top coat).
  14. Let the dry and apply a nice thick coat of top coat over the gems and nail to seal them in.
The finished product should look something like this, but hopefully yours look a lot more detailed than mine came out due to the brush I was using.

Hope You enjoyed this.

Diagonal "French"

This is my first post. My future posts will have step by step pictures or videos. (also in better quality pictures in may add)

For this design i used:

  • Wet n' Wild: Black Crème
  • Rimmel London French Manicure Pro: French Lingerie
  • Kiss Nail Art Paint: Silver Glitter
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Clear (Top Coat)
  • Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hardener (Base Coat)

Steps:

  1. Apply Base coat
  2. Apply 1-2 coats of French nail polish and let dry for a minute
  3. Then used a thin nail art brush to make diagonal lines with the black to make it neater.
  4. Fill in the black area. One coat should be sufficient.
  5. Use the Silver glitter nail art and go over the line between the french and black colors.
  6. Let dry for a minute then apply top coat.

Please note I have yet to perfect the art of cleaning up on myself. For some reason I just can't seem to get it right without messing up my nail polish, hopefully i get better over time.

Here is the same design with different colors I did on some friends.

I hope You enjoyed it.
